H. G. Wells (Moon)

Named after Herbert George Wells - British scientific writer (1866-1946).

H. G. Wells is a lunar crater on the far side , behind the northeastern limb. It lies to the south of the crater Millikan, and to the northeast of Cantor. Just to the southeast is the smaller Tesla. This large formation is most notable for the extremely battered state of its outer rim. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
