Gasa (Mars)

Named after the Town in Bhutan.

Gasa Crater is an impact crater in the Phaethontis quadrangle on Mars at 35.68° S and 230.72° W. and is 6.5 km in diameter. Gullies are evident in the images. It is now believed that the impact that created Gasa happened in a larger crater whose floor was covered with debris-covered glaciers. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On Mars large craters are named after deceased scientists, writers and others who have contributed to the lore of Mars. Small creaters (less than 60km) are named after small towns and villages.
