Cailleux (Moon)

Named after Andre Cailleux - French geologist (1907-1986).

Cailleux is a lunar impact crater that is attached to the southwest rim of the walled plain Poincaré. To the southeast is the crater Lyman, and nearly due westward is Prandtl. The crater is circular and symmetrical, with a worn rim and inner wall that is marked by a number of tiny craterlets. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
