Buck (Venus)

Named after Pearl S. Buck - American writer (1892-1973).

Buck is a crater in the Navka region of Venus. It has the terraced walls, flat radar-dark floor, and central peak that are characteristic of craters classified as 'complex'. The central peak on its floor is unusually large. Flow-like deposits extend beyond the limits of the coarser rim deposits on its west and southwest. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On Venus they are named after deceased women who have made outstanding or fundamental contributions to their field (if over 20 km). If smaller common female first names are used.
