Berlage (Moon)

Named after Hendrik Petrus Berlage - Dutch geophysicist, meteorologist (1896-1968).

Berlage is an old lunar crater that lies in the southern hemisphere on the far side. The smaller crater Bellinsgauzen is attached to its northern rim, and Cabannes is less than one crater diameter to the northwest. To the east-northeast is Lemaître. This formation is unusual for the high density of small impact craters that lie across the interior and along the rim, especially in the northern half. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
