Named after Reinieri, Vincentio Gamma - Italian astronomer, mathematician (unkn-1648).

Reiner is an albedo feature. It has an overall dimension of about 70 kilometres. The feature has a higher albedo than the dark mare surface, with a diffuse appearance and a distinctive swirling, concentric oval shape. (wikipedia entry)
