Plummer (Moon)

Named after Henry Crozier Keating Plummer - British astronomer (1875-1946).

Plummer is a lunar impact crater. It is located on the far side from the Earth, to the north of the huge walled plain Apollo. Less than one crater diameter to the north is the similar-sized Wilsing. This is a worn crater formation with several notable impacts along the rim. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
