Lebedinskiy (Moon)

Named after Aleksandr I. Lebedinskiy - Soviet astrophysicist (1913-1967).

Lebedinskiy is an impact crater on the far side. It is attached to the eastern outer rim of the somewhat larger crater Zhukovskiy. About two crater diameters to the east-southeast lies the smaller Engel'gardt. The satellite crater Lebedinskiy P lies in the southern indentation of terra. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
