Kundt (Moon)

Named after August Adolph Eduard Eberhard Kundt - German physicist (1839-1894).

Kundt is a small, bowl-shaped lunar impact crater in the northern section of the Mare Nubium. It has a raised rim and is not significantly worn due to impact erosion. This crater lies part way. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
