Godin (Moon)

Named after Louis Godin - French astronomer, mathematician (1704-1760).

Godin is a lunar impact crater located just to the south of the crater Agrippa, on a rough upland region to the east of Sinus Medii. Due south is the flooded remains of Lade. He worked in Peru, Spain, Portugal and France. (wikipedia entry)

A crater is a circular depression likely created by an impact event. On the Moon they are named after deceased scientists, polar explorers, astronauts or cosmonauts.
