Named after Aleksandr Grigorievich Stoletov - Russian physicist (1839-1896).

Stoletov is a lunar crater on the far side. It is located in the northern hemisphere, less than one crater diameter to the north of Kulik. To the northwest is Montgolfier. This is a worn and eroded crater formation. (wikipedia entry)
